Pricing announced for new 2022 Volkswagen Golf GTI

The new 2022 Volkswagen Golf GTI will start at just $31,495 when it goes on sale this year. As for the redesigned 2022 Volkswagen Golf R, it will start at $44,995.

Both cars have been completely redesigned inside and out, featuring a more luxurious interior, more tech features, and improved performance. The Golf GTI is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, an improvement of 13 horsepower over the outgoing model. As for the 2022 Volkswagen Golf R, it will get a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 315 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque (280 pound-feet with the manual).

The new Volkswagen Vehicle Dynamics Manager integrated into both cars will be mean improved performance and cornering while the Golf R’s 4Motion AWD system will offer new rear-axle torque vectoring which has the ability to send up to 100 percent of the available torque to an individual rear wheel which essentially means you can drift the car to your heart’s desire.
