2023 Volkswagen Tiguan vs. 2023 Mazda CX-5: The Tiguan is Better for Your Family

2023 Volkswagen Tiguan vs. 2023 Mazda CX-5: The Tiguan is Better for Your Family

A compact SUV is a perfect compromise between a car and a family-oriented vehicle. At VW, we think that driving dynamics can go hand in hand with space, technologies and versatility. But not all manufacturers think like that, that’s why the Tiguan is the best choice in its category.

Here, we compare the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan with the 2023 Mazda CX-5.

The 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan is more advanced, and offers more style

Enhanced driving dynamics have always been a key facet of Volkswagen vehicles. That’s why the 2023 Tiguan is powered by a 2.0-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder unit that deploys 184 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. This is much more torque than the CX-5’s base engine. It channels the power to an 8-speed transmission, which offers more precision than the Mazda CX-5’s old 6-speed unit.

Every Tiguan is equipped with VW’s advanced 4MOTION AWD system, which is much more advanced than the CX-5’s i-Activ system, letting drivers take advantage of more driving modes and better performance on Canada’s changing weather conditions.

The 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan also lets owners express their style preferences through the R-Line package, which comes with signature wheels, a unique steering wheel and many other accents inside and out.

The 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan offers more space

Even if it is categorized as “compact,” the Tiguan delivers a maximum amount of space for passengers and cargo. Thanks to an innovative design it can sit up to seven passengers with an optional third row, letting larger families optimize their transport needs without having to upgrade to a midsize SUV. The Mazda CX-5 unfortunately doesn’t have this type of option and is limited to five passengers.

The Volkswagen Tiguan also delivers great space for. In normal configuration, the Tiguan delivers 1,065 litres of cargo behind the rear seats – which is more than the segment average. When the rear seating is folded, Tiguan owners have up to 2,081 litres at your disposal. The Mazda CX-5 offers fewer possibilities, with only 875 litres when it is full of passengers and 1,687 when the rear seats are folded.

The Tiguan offers more than the Mazda CX-5 on all aspects. Come see it today! You can also shop for your Volkswagen online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
