Three Volkswagen safety technologies that stand out

Volkswagen has long been known for its highly advanced safety and driver assistance technologies. VW vehicles are designed to ensure your confidence and comfort on the road, and part of that is making sure that you feel safe and protected. VW driver assistance and safety technologies are also designed to reduce distractions to a minimum, intervening only when necessary to help you, not bother you.

Here are three VW safety technologies that you will like having on your vehicle.

Intelligent Emergency Braking System with Pedestrian Detection

This is a long name for a technology that is very simple in its operation. The Forward Collision Warning with Emergency Braking System and Pedestrian Detection is able to monitor the road ahead of your vehicle and detect another vehicle suddenly braking or a pedestrian crossing the street without warning. A signal will be given to you if either of these events occur, and if you don't react your Volkswagen vehicle will be able to apply the brakes to prevent a collision.

Lane Departure Prevention System

This system is able to read the lines on the road to keep you in your lane and prevent lane departures caused by distractions. With Lane Departure Prevention technology, your VW can detect when you are about to leave the lane and warn you. If you don't react, the system can put you back on track.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert System

This system allows you to back up your vehicle with confidence by alerting you with an audible signal if another vehicle approaches perpendicularly. If you've ever tried to back out of a crowded parking lot, you know that sometimes it's difficult to see another vehicle approaching because of the cars on either side of you. The Rear Cross Traffic Alert system will be able to rectify this.
